Besides action figures, Japanese toymaker Character Product also dabbled in bobbleheads.
The resulting line was called BIG HEAD SERIES (not to be confused with Character Product's
more-common "Pro-Kaku Heroes Mini Big Head figures") which were released in the early
2000's.
In the past, we covered the Kenta Kobashi and Hakushi bobbleheads from the BIG HEAD
SERIES line. Up next, we'll be looking at one of the rarest bobbleheads from the set. Blog
#230 is dedicated to Character Product's BIG HEAD SERIES Tiger Mask bobblehead.
The Tiger Mask bobblehead is made of polystone and stands 15cm (7 inches) tall.
The base reads "First Tiger Mask" (Satoru Sayama - the original Wrestler to don the
Tiger Mask gimmick) and the included ring ropes are made of fabric.
Unlike the Mini Big Heads line, this Tiger Mask figure actually does bobble!
Tiger Mask's appearance is based on his early 1980's appearance for New
Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Tiger is crafted in a standard fighting pose stance.
The back of Tiger's mask contains tied laces going up the seams. There's even a
a gold foil paint design that seems to shine off this bobblehead.
Character Product's logo can be seen at the bottom of the base.
Closing thoughts:
Personally, I've never been a big fan of facial sculpts of the BIG HEAD SERIES bobble
-heads (comparatively, I've always felt Character Product's BIG HEAD KING FIGHTERS
line from the mid 2000's contains the most realistic facial sculpts from the company).
Though, out of all of the Bobbleheads from the BIG HEAD SERIES, Tiger Mask's first
and only bobblehead is one of the rarest. The other other bobbleheads that could match
Tiger's exclusivity from the BIG HEAD SERIES line are: Mil Mascaras (purple variant)
and Jushin Thunder Liger.
