For blog #109, we'll be looking at another highly sought-after set: the
Mogura House Mitsuharu Misawa & Keiji Mutoh tag team two-pack.
Like the Minoru Suzuki & Naomichi Marufuji two-pack (which we previously
covered HERE<------), the Mitsuharu Misawa and Keiji Mutoh figure set was
released as a joint partnership between Mogura House (who handled making
Pro-Wrestling NOAH figures) and Character Product (who handled making
All Japan Pro-Wrestling figures throughout the 2000's).
Mitsuharu Misawa is featured with a modern-looking face sculpt complete
with facial hair and his iconic green and silver ring attire.
The included Keiji Mutoh figure features Mutoh about to perform his
Pro-Wrestling LOVE pose (also known as the "Pro-Wrestling LOVE
Kiss ver.").
As a deluxe two-pack, this special set also included a supersized acrylic
display base, four figure holders and an attachable name plate that reads
"2004.10.31 in 両国国技館"(translation: October 31st, 2004 in Ryogoku
Kokugikan) which is a reference to All Japan Pro-Wrestling's "AJPW Keiji
Mutoh 20th Anniversary - Love and Bump" event.
In the final match of the Love and Bump event, Keiji Mutoh would team
up with Mitsuharu Misawa for the first (and only time) to take on Mutoh's
legendary rivals Hiroshi Hase and Kensuke Sasake that was billed as a
"Special Dream Tag Match".
While most deluxe name plates that were included with Mogura House,
Charapro and Toukon Shop figures simply featured the Wrestler's name,
the Misawa & Mutoh two-pack is a rare exception that featured the name
of the event itself instead.
