In a recent conversation with Wrestling superstar Chris Hero (who, as many of you might know,
is also an avid Japanese figure collector), we started talking about the rarest Charapro figures.
Bruiser Brody DX figure?
Toukon Shop Strong Style Mini Big Head Pre-Release set?
Great Muta mail-away figures?
Short answer: no.
For Blog #195, I'll share with you the second most valuable Character Product figure ever
created. The First Generation Tiger Mask Polystone statue.

In the early 2000's, Japanese toymaker Character Product were granted the ability to create
figures based on the first generation Tiger Mask Satoru Sayama. Action figures, Mini Big
Heads, Bobbleheads and even keshigomu figures were all made in Sayama's likeness.
But, above all of Character Product's creations, one of the absolute rarest Tiger Mask
figures came in the form of:
...The tharacter Product First Generation Tiger Mask statue.
Very little is known about this statue other than it contains a base similar to Character
Product's Mini Big Head series and that the statue was made in very limited quantities.
As a polystone statue, this Tiger Mask figure doesn't feature any articulation or a removable
head sculpt (in comparison to the Mini Big Head line).
Some online accounts claim the Tiger Mask figure was made by fellow Japanese toymaker
HAO, but that is incorrect. At the time, HAO were only granted the ability to create figures
based on Tiger Mask IV ...not Satoru Sayama.
This particular bundle added an autographed trading card signed by Satoru Sayama.
As to my knowledge, the Tiger Mask polystone statue never came with a signed card
on it's own.
Scale-wise, the Tiger Mask polystone statue looks to be far bigger than Character Product's
Mini Big Head figures. I'd estimate the scale is closer to Charapro's BIG HEAD KING
FIGHTERS line at about 4 inches tall.
What I can tell you is that the last online store in Japan that I recall selling one of these statues
went for about $600 USD! A price that goes far beyond even the rarest of Character Product
figures.
If you'd like to do a bit of digging around yourself, you can find this figure by using the following
Japanese text:
初代タイガーマスク ポリストーンフィギュア (First Generation Tiger Mask Polystone Figure).
