Welcome back to the largest online source of Japanese Pro-Wrestling figure information
on the web. In this blog, you will find over one thousand photos, product information
and stories behind the collectibles.
Speaking of Championship belts packaged with Japanese figures, it doesn't get more
collectible than Character Product's Ultimo Dragon figure variants.
Blog #175 goes to a dark place with the Ultimo Dragon DX Figure (Black ver.)
A boxed example signed by Ultimo Dragon himself!
I love the Mayan graphic in the background; which adds to the appeal of this deluxe figure.
The deluxe Ultimo Dragon figures were released around 2004.
Along with Ultimo's stats and profile, a logo of Ultimo's Toryumon promotion
is also represented.
A loose example. Ultimo's hand sculpts can be used to proudly clutch the included
Championship belt around Ultimo's waist.
The included belt is the UWA World Junior Light Heavyweight Championship.
Along with "U.W.A.", there is a also a picture of the Mexican flag on the belt's left side.
The back of the cape has a scaled texture that compliments the fins on the back of
Ultimo's ring mask.
The cape accessory is removable with a peg on the inside that connects to the Ultimo figure.
With accessories removed.
To be expected, Ultimo's figures are some of the most detailed Character Product releases.
Rivalled only by figures made of Mil Mascaras, Great Muta or Jushin Thunder Liger.
Though, the writing might be hard to make out with the included paint job, the right side of
the U.W.A. belt contains the flags of Venezuela and Panama.
Respectively, the left side features the U.S. and Japanese flags.
Closing thoughts:
I've always loved the Ultimo Dragon figures made by Character Product. Six different
figures with six different belts to collect. And, while collectors are essentially buying the
same figure six times, the amount of detail and difference in packaging makes the task
less gruelling than it appears to be.
Outside of Mexico and the U.S., Ultimo Dragon would never receive another action figure
again, making these Deluxe figures all the more collectible.
