The variants keep on coming with our newest blog entry. Blog #179 teams up with
the Character Product Ultimo Dragon (Red ver.) DX figure.
Released in 2004 as part of Character Product's DX figure line. The Ultimo Dragon
red variant contains the same type of packaging as the black figure version.
Wrestlefigs expert Ruby Fusion states the included belt is the UWA World Welterweight Championship.
Like the black and gold version, there is no glitter design on this example.
Closing thoughts:
There are a total of six different Ultimo Dragon deluxe figures to collect. In my years of
collecting, I only managed to track down five of the six variants (the last being the green
Ultimo variant).
It seems Character Product were aiming for eight different figure variants to accommodate
the eight titles of the J-Crown Championship in which Ultimo Dragon once famously held.
It's a mystery why Character Product never completed the last two figures (they
certainly made three additional colour variants as indicated by the Ultimo Dragon
20th Anniversary figure set).
If Character Product really wanted to, they could have even released clear versions
with the remaining belts (clear white, green, red, blue, etc) or the dreaded bronze
figure types.
